1. The Singing Bridge built over the Myall River between Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest ‘sings’ when there is a strong south-west wind.
2. The Jean Shaw Koala Reserve is located at the Northeast of the Singing Bridge. Perhaps the Koalas cross the bridge to visit their families for a picnic.
3. Former Prime Minister John Howard and his family would come to Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest for holidays.

5. Opinion is divided on where Tea Gardens got its name from – either the unsuccessful attempt to grow tea on 500,000 acres by the Australian Agricultural Company in 1826, or, the concentration of tea-trees along the Myall River.
